Advanced Life Support, Advanced Life Support (Recertification) and e-Advanced Life Support

There are 3 course options;

Advanced Life Support (2 days)

The ALS course teaches the theory and practical skills to effectively treat cardiorespiratory arrest, peri-arrest situations and special circumstances, and to prepare senior members of a multidisciplinary team to treat the patient until transfer to a critical care area is possible.

ALS Recertification Course

Only those candidates who hold a valid ALS Provider certificate are eligible to attend the one day re-certification course. Certificates are valid for 4 years. It is not recommended that candidates attend a recertification course if more than one year has elapsed since the expiry date of their provider certificate.

e-Advanced Life Support

Candidate eligibility is the same for e-ALS as the full 2 day course.
The online component needs to be successfully completed prior to the 1 day face to face element. Certificates are valid for 4 years. Candidates are given access to online resources from one month prior to the course. At their own pace they will then study approximately 7 hours of on-line course material before attending a 1-day face-to-face course. Access to the e-learning materials continues for a total of 5 months.
