A “hair-raising” month for our staff taking part in “Movember”.

It’s going to be a “hair-raising” month for our staff taking part in Movember.

Eight colleagues from the Nightingale Macmillan Unit at the Royal Derby Hospital are taking on the challenge of growing their moustaches for Movember in aid of a cause very close to all of their hearts.

The “tash-growing” team are doing this to raise awareness of Prostate Cancer and Mental Health in support of two of their colleagues, one who is currently living with Prostate Cancer.

Alex Newby, a member of the team taking part said, “I wasn’t too sure about taking part at first, but then I thought, this moustache will be gone at the end of November, but for anyone living with Cancer, that journey can last a lot longer.”

If you’d like to sponsor the team, take a look at their JustGiving page here: http://bit.ly/2KlBl7c.  All of the money raised will be donated to our hospital charity, Derby and Burton Hospitals Charity.
