UHDB Nurse Specialist bags three medals at Taekwando World Championships

Janice Toplass, Infection and Prevention Control Nurse Specialist, has won an impressive haul of bronze, silver and gold medals at the World ITF Taekwando Championships in Glasgow.

Janice has been training as a martial arts specialist since 1995 and has worked at the Royal Derby Hospital for over 20 years.

The last competition she competed in was over 19 years ago before the both of her children, so the medals at the latest World Championships came as a huge surprise.

Janice said: “To have come home with three medals was amazing.

“It has inspired me to train even harder for my next competition. Standing on the podium receiving the medals is a feeling I’ll never forget.”
