Medicine for the Elderly - Derby
The Department of Medicine for the Elderly offers inpatient and outpatient services to older people at Royal Derby Hospital, Florence Nightingale Community Hospital and across the community.
We cater particularly for the frail elderly or those with many medical problems. We provide outreach services to local community hospitals.
We have specialist clinics for falls and Parkinson’s Disease (winners of the Hospital Doctor Parkinson’s Disease Team of the Year 2007, and a National Parkinson’s Foundation Centre of Excellence).

- with acute confused states
- who have fallen
- with multiple medical problems
- with imparied fuctional ability
- Ortho-geriatric liaison (for patients with broken hips)
- Old-age psychiatry liaison
