Currently Lead Medical Secretary for Rheumatology & Gastroenterology, based in Rheumatology; I have been at the Trust for 20 years. I trained as a medical secretary (AMSPAR) and have worked at St Giles Hospice and as a ‘temp’ at various other hospitals; I have also worked in industry.
I feel very passionate that patients must be at the centre of all we do - in every SOP, meeting, discussion – everything. I think grass roots staff have invaluable experience and should be listened to more than they are. Being a Governor helps me see what is going on across a much broader spectrum and allows me to contribute on a different stage. In my spare time, I enjoy training/working our English Springer spaniels.
