Council of Governor Elections 2023

Could you be one of our next public Governors? Join us and make a difference to your local NHS

University Hospitals of Derby and Burton NHS Foundation Trust (UHDB) is now accepting nominations to join our Council of Governors as a public Governor.

This is an exciting opportunity to join us as our Governors are crucial in helping us on our journey towards delivering Exceptional Care Together and shaping the future of UHDB.

We have four positions across three constituencies for which we are currently seeking nominations:

  • Amber Valley and Derbyshire Dales
  • Derby City (two roles available)
  • South Derbyshire

We are now accepting nominations. The submission deadline is Thursday 25 May 2023.

What is the role of a Public Governor?

We are looking for applicants who can provide a direct link into our local communities to help us improve health services and represent the diverse issues, views and ideas of the more than one million people we serve across Derbyshire and Staffordshire.

As a public Governor, you will have the opportunity to visit areas of the Trust and meet staff and patients, to work in partnership with our senior leadership team, and to hold our non-executive directors to account for the performance of the Board.

Our Governors also have an increasingly important role to play in our work in the two local health and care systems we are a part of - meaning you have the opportunity to impact care across a large demographic, ensuring the needs of our patients are met.

If you support our Trust values of compassion, excellence and openness and would like to represent the public voice and diversity of your local community, we would love to hear from you.
