Staff commended for their innovative schemes to improve end of life care
We’re delighted that the CQC has recognised our staff’s contributions to enhancing end of life care at the Royal Derby Hospital.
Karen Bussooa, one of our end of life facilitators, and our end of life care team work with our healthcare professionals to ensure that the final days of our patients lives are made as special and as comfortable as possible.
There are a variety of innovative schemes and ideas in place; whether that’s through the use of our pop-up bedrooms, which depict scenes from around the world and help to make clinical spaces more comfortable and relaxing, comfort packs for friends and relatives, the opening of a Healing Garden for staff and patients to remember their loved ones or enabling family pets to visit their owners on our wards – there’s so much that the team do to support our patients.
