HNA’s are often offered to patients at the stage of initial diagnosis and/or recurrence of cancer but can be completed at any time throughout your cancer journey including during your follow up.
The HNA is designed as a concerns checklist covering all aspects of wellbeing including physical, emotional, practical, financial and spiritual needs. The checklist will prompt you to score any concerns you may have on a scale of 1-10 (1 being lowest and 10 being the highest concern). This then enables our Gynaecology Oncology CNS team to identify any areas that you may need further information and support with, and which of these are felt to be the most significant to you at the time. Once the HNA has been completed the Gynaecology Oncology team will be informed and they will then get in contact with you, to arrange either a telephone or face to face appointment to discuss.
If you would like to know more or complete a HNA yourself, please contact the Gynaecology Oncology CNS team, or alternatively you can view the Macmillan cancer support website (opens in new window) >
