Vanessa and Rebecca: Go For It! winners
Two UHDB staff-led projects aimed at improving the care we’re able to provide to young patients and their families have been granted around £2,500 in funding.
Dr Vanessa Cox and Rebecca Sage are the latest colleagues to receive funding as part of the Trust’s Go For It! Fund – with both receiving the support needed to help bring their ideas to life.
Dr Cox, a Paediatric Consultant at Derbyshire Children’s Hospital, has been awarded around £2,000 to develop an app for young UHDB patients to help them transition from children’s to adult’s services.
Rebecca Sage, who is a Nurse Practitioner in the Queen’s Hospital Burton Paediatric Department, has also been presented with around £500 in Go For It! funding to convert a clinical room at the hospital into a bereavement suite for children who sadly pass away in our care.
Both projects are extremely valuable to children and their families and we wish them every success!
