Jobs in Digital Services

Nurses working together

We aspire to become a fully digital Trust, connecting and supporting our patients, staff, and wider health systems. We aim to maximise innovation opportunities to provide the safest care anywhere.

As an employer, we offer a wide variety of clinical and non-clinical roles for staff who have an interest in technology, supported by professional development and apprenticeships at all levels (Including Degree and Masters levels).

Why join us in Digital Services?

Digital technology can transform the care we provide.

The right technical solutions enable us to move away from traditional paper processes, collect information digitally (which can be stored safely and securely) and as a result, be able to use it for the clinical management of our patients.

Will Monaghan, Chief Digital Information Officer, explains how Digital Services colleagues play a crucial role in patient care.

Digital technology is a key enabler, supporting all the Trust’s strategies, and is fundamental to the delivery of our aims and objectives as an organisation. We are a large and busy department, with a team of experts across a wide range of areas including:

  • Development
  • Technical services / Infrastructure
  • Information Governance and Data Security
  • Project Management
  • Data Analytics
  • Education and Customer Service

Our multi-disciplinary teams work collaboratively together on projects from design to delivery, using various technologies to support the digitisation of workflows and processes.

Recent achievements include the deployment of a new laboratory system across the Derbyshire Integrated Care System (ICS) (two acute Trusts), replacement of the Emergency Department IT system, a new Trustwide eCasenote system, and rapid deployment of over 3000 devices in response to the recent Covid-19 pandemic.

We also offer a comprehensive NHS benefits package including flexible hybrid working, British Computer Society (BCS) membership, health and wellbeing support, enhanced leave, workplace pension, and continuing professional development opportunities that allow people to enhance their skills and pursue career paths.
