Specialist Dietitian

Our Diabetes and Endocrinology team provide specialist care to patients with diabetes, and problems related to hormones throughout Southern Derbyshire.

Our specialist clinics are multi-disciplinary, and include consultants, nurses, dieticians, and psychologists to ensure specialist care.

Our team at UHDB have a national reputation for excellence in diabetes care.

The Diabetes Technology team led by Dr Emma Wilmot, the Diabetes Foot Service led by Professor Fran Game, and the Inpatient Diabetes team are held up as national examples of good practice.

Our Bariatrics Service was one of only six nationwide felt to have the skills and facilities necessary to host a Royal College of Physicians (RCP) Obesity Fellowship. This provides specialist training in obesity medicine for trainees who are planning a future career in weight management.

Due to our reputation and ability to deliver, we have been awarded funding for the NHSE Young Adults Pilot and the NHSE Closed Loop Pilot.

Huge developments in lipid pathways have been made across Derbyshire by working with the Academic Health Science Network (AHSN).
