Wendy White

Wendy White is Team Leader in Diabetes and Endocrinology, managing 9 team members and their team is shortly to be joined by an apprentice.

Wendy has passed her Level 3 Business and Management Diploma and is now looking at doing Level 5 in Advanced Management. Using this knowledge, she aims to give trainees a taste of the skills needed to effectively manage and lead their teams. Wendy says: “I chose the course because I had been a team leader for over two years already and was looking for help in motivating my team to be passionate about what they do. The course gave me that, as well as an insight into the kind of leader I am and the different kinds of skills each member of my team has, and how to help them give their best and enjoy their work. I love coming to work and want to be the best team leader I can be.

“We’re really working well as a team now and have been recognised for hitting our targets. I’m now looking forward to taking the Level 5 Advanced Management qualification, which will cover knowledge, skills and behaviour, including helping me learn more about managing plans and projects. I think it will really stretch me – and I’m looking forward to the challenge. For anyone thinking about developing themselves through apprenticeship modules I would say go for it – don’t sit back, developing yourself and others can be fun.”
