Our staff spoke. We listened. We acted.

We asked our staff in Spring 2023 how we can make UHDB a better workplace. We wanted to learn what we could introduce, change, and improve that would have the greatest impact on our staff at work, and received over 4,500 responses.

We analysed the results and implemented new offers, enhanced what we already had, and made changes based on feedback, while making the best use of trust resources, time, and finance.

Creating the best workplace for our staff and future workforce is important, and UHDB is committed to listening and updating our staff offer regularly.

  • Expanded menopause support for LGBTQIA+ and ethnic minority colleagues through expanded offer.
  • UHDB Carer Passport to support colleagues with conversations with their line managers about managing their caring responsibilities and work with appropriate adjustments.
  • New outdoor spaces - Heros & Loved Ones (Halo) Gardens to be developed at Florence Nightingale Community Hospital and Queen's Hospital Burton where staff and relatives have a quiet space to sit and reflect.
