Florence Nightingale Community Hospital has four entrances which are:


Entrance A

  • Located off Litchurch Street (London Road end). 
  • Nearest car park - Yellow Car Park.
  • This entrance is commonly used for Clinic A, Clinic B, Derbyshire Integrated Sexual Health Service, x-ray and Imaging department. 
  • This entrance is closed between 6pm - 7am.


Main Entrance

  • Located off Oxford Street. 
  • Nearest car park is Yellow Car Park.
  • This entrance is commonly used for Blood Clinic, Eye Clinic, Dermatology Outpatients, Clinic G, Audiology, ImPACT+/Pulmonary Rehabilitation, Wound Care Clinic and access to Level 3 for Muscular Skeletal Outpatients and Diabetic Retinopathy Clinic.
  • This entrance is closed between 8pm - 6am.


Entrance B

  • Located off Oxford Street. 
  • Nearest car park is Purple Car Park.
  • Access to all Wards and Clinic M. 
  • Used this entance to access the hospital at night via an intercom system when the main entrance is closed.


Entrance C

  • Located on Litchurch Street (Osmaston Road end).
  • This entrance is closed between 7pm - 6pm.

The hospital can be accessed via the A52 and the M1, off Junction 25.

Parking

Please always consider using public transport or other environmentally friendly travel options when visiting Florence Nightingale Community Hospital. 

There are two car parks located on our hospital site, Yellow car park located near to the main entrance and Purple car park, located near to Entrance B. Both car parks are free for the first 30 minutes. Simply insert your ticket into the exit barrier.

Our car parks can get busy at peak times and all visitors to the site may wish to consider parking at alternative public car parks or on street car parking in the area.

Getting to us by public transport

Bus

There are buses that stop outside or near the hospital:

  • There is a bus stop located on London Road near the hospital (Bloomfield Street stop) with services via route 73 Skylink Derby and Aviva bus route 1 & 1A. Nearest entrances to the hospital from London Road is the main entrance.
     
  • There is a bus stop located on Osmaston Road (Moreleston Street stop), which is served by Aviva Derby buses via route 38, 2, 2A & 2B. Nearest entrance to the hospital from Osmaston Road is Entrance C.
     
  • There is an on-site bus stop located on Litchurch Street, which is served by the Trent Barton Royal Derby bus. Across the road from this bus stop via steps or ramp is the main entrance to the hospital.
     
  • The hospital is within 12-15 minutes walking distance of Derby Bus Station, which is served by Aviva Derby buses. Alternatively, the Royal Derby bus runs regular buses from London Road (The Spot) to the hospital.

The Car Park and Cashier office at Florence Nightingale Community Hospital is able to reimburse bus fares if you have proof of claiming a benefit and have your appointment card/letter.

Getting to us on foot or by bike

Bike

If you live close by and are fit and well, we encourage you to walk or cycle to our hospitals, wherever possible. There are cycle hoops outside the main entrance to secure your bicycle, along with dedicated motorcycle spaces in the Purple car park.

UHDB supports ebikes Derby, Derby’s electric bike sharing scheme, with ebike pods situated near to the community hospital on Railway Terrarace.
