Medical Education at UHDB

The Medical Education department is based at both the Royal Derby Hospital Education Centre and Queens Hospital Education Centre. These centres are a purpose built education and training facility.

The department provides clinical leadership and administrative support for postgraduate and undergraduate medical education activity taking place within the Trust. We work in partnership with the East Midlands Healthcare Workforce Deanery and University of Nottingham regarding clinical training for medical students, and doctors in training at all stages of their careers. In addition, the department supports the continuing professional development of specialty doctors and consultants.

There is a strong medical educational governance structure throughout the Trust, led by the medical director, and supported by dedicated clinical staff focussed on delivering and supporting quality education and training.

Medical Education also encompasses the Resuscitation and Clinical Skills department which provides a resuscitation service and all levels of resuscitation training and assessment. In addition the department delivers clinical skills and simulation teaching to our multi-professional workforce.
