A massive thank you to our Behind the Scenes Teams at QHB

Painters, Porters, Domestics, Estates, Contractors and Infection Prevention Control all received a special thank you from our Burton Paediatrics Team for supporting the team to “move back home” after the they were temporarily relocated to the Royal Derby Hospital to support with the Trust’s response to the Coronavirus pandemic.

These unsung heroes have gone above and beyond to make sure the Queen’s Hospital Burton Children’s Department was immaculate before it started to admit our younger patients again. Each member of the different teams received a Team UHDB Thank You Card for the exceptional work they had carried out.

Duncan Bedford, Managing Director for the Burton site also popped along to the celebration. He said:  “We all know it’s been a difficult time in the past 6 months, but for me this about today, we’re here to celebrate the highs and how people have really pulled together to support each other.

“What I want to say to all of you here who have helped to support the move back to Burton is a real massive thank you. There are a lot of “behind-the-scenes” teams here at UHDB and it’s important we recognise the fantastic work that you have all done throughout these unprecedented times and the support you have provided to our Paediatrics Team to welcome them back home to Burton.”

Liz Addison, Improvement Project Manager, was also thanked by Matron, Vicki Baldwin, for going the extra mile to support the team with the massive changes they have faced over the past couple of months.

Liz said “It’s been such a joy working with everyone and supporting this project. Vicki, you have such a great team and it has been so nice to see everyone working together to get the job done.”
