A tribute to Tina Leek

Tina Leek

University Hospitals of Derby and Burton has sadly lost a treasured colleague. Tina Leek, a Healthcare Assistant on Ward 303, sadly died last week following a tragic accident.

Gavin Boyle, Chief Executive said: “Tina joined the team in 2014 and was known by all as a bubbly, kind, hardworking colleague and a real character that was never stressed. Many of the team looked up to Tina within the department and for the team she will be irreplaceable.

“Tina’s close colleagues say she was a brilliant friend to so many and such a hard working healthcare assistant. Away from work Tina loved spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren. Our thoughts are with Tina’s friends and family at this very difficult time. I would like to offer our sincere condolences to them on behalf of everyone at UHDB.”

Tina had chosen to support organ donation and her wishes were respected, with her organs going to help others. For more information about organ donation please visit www.organdonation.nhs.uk
