Adult patients are invited to attend new patient group for sickle cell care

Do you or your loved one have sickle cell disorder and receive care at Royal Derby Hospital or Queen's Hospital Burton?

We want to hear from patients and their carers/families at our new patient group meeting to learn more about your experiences, hear your feedback and work together so we can make focused service improvements that matter and make a difference to our communities impacted by sickle cell.

Date and location
Thursday 6 November 2025, 10am - 1pm
Florence Nightingale Community Hospital, Conference room, First Floor (Level 3)
Derby, DE1 2QY

We know that healthcare for patients with sickle cell disorder is not where it needs to be - both locally and nationally. We want to work more closely with our patients and communities to improve the standards of sickle cell care at University Hospitals of Derby and Burton. This new group is an opportunity for our patients, families and carers to join us and:

·         Share your experience of receiving care at RDH and QHB, what you think is done well and what needs to improve

·         Have your say on the plan, design and implementation of new Trust services related to sickle cell care

·         Check patient publications and resources aimed at our communities and patients impacted by sickle cell before they are published

Want to make a difference to communities and other patients impacted by sickle cell and join? Email Agnes Williams to book your place: agnes.williams3@nhs.net or contact her on 07385954723.
