University Hospitals of Derby and Burton is today celebrating International Day of the Nurse, recognising the exceptional care our Nurses provide to our patients.

In the midst of this global pandemic throughout the past year, Nurses across University Hospitals of Derby and Burton have risen to this extraordinary challenge to support one another in the fight to protect the communities we serve.

To mark the occasion, we spoke to some of our UHDB nurses about what being a nurse means to them.

Simon Rizzi, Senior Charge Nurse, QHB

Ben Griffiths, Senior Charge Nurse, RDH

Today also marks Florence Nightingale's 201st birthday, so we're proud to announce our plans to rename London Road Community Hospital in her name. Find out more about our Celebration of Florence Nightingale's 201st birthday >
