Colleagues and patients get festive visit from Burton Albion Football Club
Football fans young and old were delighted to get a visit from Burton Albion Football Club last week as they spread some festive cheer at Queen's Hospital Burton.
Members of the team toured the Children's Ward and Ward 6 which supports patients undergoing cardiac rehabilitation, handing out gifts, posing for photographs and speaking with patients and hospital staff.
The visit was organised by Derby and Burton Hospitals Charity, and Jill Matthews, Chief Officer of the charity said special visits like this really do lift the spirits of those who are spending Christas in hospital.
Jill said: "Being in hospital can be challenging at any time of year, and seeing a familiar local club take the time to visit, bring gifts and say thank you to staff means so much to everyone involved. We are incredibly grateful to Burton Albion for their generosity, not only for spending time with our patients and staff, but also for their ongoing support of our children’s services."
