Explore a career in Coronary Care at Royal Derby Hospital open day

Coronary Care Unit team taking part in training

The Coronary Care Unit (CCU) team at Royal Derby Hospital is hosting a recruitment open day on Tuesday 10 October. 

This is an exciting opportunity to find out more about working in the team who are currently looking for Registered Nurses to join their experienced team. 

The recruitment event will take place on Tuesday 10 October from 9am - 2pm, allowing interested individuals to meet the team, find out about their exciting training packages and support, as well as having the opportunity of an interview on the day.

Rebecca Jones, Senior Sister for CCU, said: "I am extremely proud of my team. The unit is an extremely friendly and welcoming unit who pride themselves on excellent patient care.

"We have a fantastic in house cardiology module that all new members of the team will undertake, teaching them all the relevant knowledge and skills required to become an experienced CCU nurse. The course is taught by myself and my team with occasional specialists nurses teaching such as Cardiac Outreach. The skills learnt will cover numerous topics such as ECG interpretation, CPAP, balloon pumps and many more. 

"The team is like a second  family and we are looking forward to welcoming our new team members."

The role will form part of a vibrant team, with applicants to be educated in a wide range of specialist cardiac and coronary care, including how to use balloon pumps, CPAP, CVADs, cannulation, venepuncture, cardiac monitoring, to assist in PPCI, ECGs and ECG interpretation.

The event will take place in the Lecture Theatre at Royal Derby Hospital, which is located in the Education Centre on Level 2. Find floor plans of Royal Derby Hospital on our website here >

Newly Qualified Nurses who are qualifying in early 2024 are welcome to apply for these roles, with interviews being held on 10 October after 2pm for viable applicants.
