Team UHDB Award: Workforce Transformation

The immense effort that has gone on behind the scenes to look after our colleagues and to keep them informed throughout the Covid-19 pandemic has been acknowledged with an award.

UHDB’s Workforce Transformation Team have done a fantastic job over the last few months completing a variety of different projects to aid staff wellbeing – at one stage handling 600 queries a day from colleagues.

From initially carrying out wellbeing calls to staff who were off work to check how they were doing, to then processing and contacting colleagues with Covid swab test results, the team have really gone the extra mile and adapted their roles to support whenever the demand has been there.

The team have also been working tirelessly to invite colleagues from across our five hospitals to receive antibody testing, with Gavin Boyle, Chief Executive, surprising them with a Team UHDB Award this week to show the Trust’s appreciation.

He said: “The team have done a fantastic job, so I wanted to thank them for everything they’ve done. There have been a few challenges along the way throughout the last few months, the antibody testing to name but one, but we seem to be on top of that now, which is really reassuring for our staff. Making sure that we look after our people has been one of our biggest challenges, so things like this really matter.”

Faye Bradley, Assistant Director of Workforce Transformation and Integration, said: “From our perspective, we’ve had quite a bit to do with workforce contingency and HR business planning but we’ve never had to test it in real life like this. It’s taken an almighty effort from all of the HR teams but it’s very satisfying to have been recognised in this way, especially as we’re viewed as a team that works behind the scenes.”
