Trust appoints new Executive Chief Digital Information Officer

The Trust is pleased to share that Debbie Loke has been appointed as its new Executive Chief Digital Information Officer (CDIO).

Debbie has worked at UHDB since 2003, most recently as the Chief Information Officer and Director of Digital, overseeing digital services, and has supported the delivery of a number of vital clinical digital programmes during her time here, including picture arching and communications systems. Debbie is also the electronic patient record (EPR) Director for the Derbyshire system, managing the single EPR roll-out across UHDB and Chesterfield Royal Hospital NHS Foundation Trust.

Debbie takes up the post from Will Monaghan, who has a new position as Group Chief Digital Information Officer at University Hospitals of Leicester NHS Trust (UHL) and University Hospitals Northamptonshire (UHN) Group.

Debbie said: "I'm delighted to be taking up this role here at UHDB, which remains my local hospital and is an organisation that I am truly passionate about.

"We have some really exciting opportunities ahead of us with our single EPR work underway, and I want to focus on making improvements to other critical systems used by our staff and by our patients.

"We have the ability to do so much when we do digital well - everything from providing high quality data to help us make better informed decisions, to reducing health inequalities and giving staff and patients the technology that really works for them to support them in their daily lives.

"I've been grateful for Will's leadership during his time here and am looking forward to working with our teams across digital to build on the great work we have already started."

Alongside her NHS work, Debbie is Vice Chair of the Chief Information Officer advisory panel for Digital Health and a faculty member for CHIME, a global professional organisation for digital health leaders.

Chief Executive Stephen Posey said: "UHDB has benefitted from Debbie's expertise and knowledge as a leader for many years and we have no doubt that she will continue to drive forward our digital agenda in support of patients and staff alike.

"I know our teams will share our congratulations for Debbie and are wishing her every success in this new role."

Debbie will be starting as Executive CDIO on 19 July.
