UHDB Dementia team to host annual information and support event in October 2026

People living with dementia, their families, carers, staff and members of the public are invited to find out more about the support and services available to them - at this year’s instalment of the annual information and support event hosted by colleagues in our UHDB Dementia team.

This free event will take place on Friday 23 October 2026, from 10am to 3pm, in the Education Centre Lecture Theatre, Level 2, at Royal Derby Hospital.

The event brings together University Hospitals of Derby and Burton NHS Foundation Trust (UHDB) services and external health, social care and community organisations to help people understand the support available to people living with dementia and those who care for them.

Visitors will have the opportunity to speak directly with professionals, ask questions and find out how they can access or self-refer to services. There will also be information and advice about support during hospital stays and in the community, onward referrals, and practical guidance for families and next of kin. The event will also include advice on supporting people living with dementia, specifically during the festive season.

A range of organisations and services will have information stands throughout the day, giving attendees the chance to explore what is available, ask questions and access support face-to-face.

Refreshments, including cakes, samosas and hot beverages, will also be available throughout the day.

The event is open to UHDB staff, patients, people living with dementia, carers, families and members of the public. No registration is required - please come along and join us!
