Winners of 'Pop Up Bedroom' photo competition announced
After receiving almost 500 entries, we are delighted to announce the winners of our 'Pop Up Bedroom' photo competition!
We've chosen eight images to feature on our new Kwick Screens for our end of life patients, and we're sure you'll agree that they're all spectacular!
Our entries were judged by our End of Life Care team, with our CEO Gavin Boyle, Chief Nurse Cathy Winfield and Director of Nursing, Jim Murray helping to pick the winning entries.
The 'Pop Up Bedroom' scheme aims to transform the environment of a hospital room for a patient who is in final few hours or days of their life.
This can be done by fitting a large screen next to the patient’s bed that can depict a range of different landscapes and scenery, whilst recliner chairs are available to allow family and friends to stay by their loved one’s side through the night.
Karen Bussooa, End of Life Facilitator at UHDB, said: "I'd like to thank everyone who entered our competition. It was amazing to see so many wonderful pictures sent in - it was really difficult for us to choose just eight!
"We're sure that these images will bring peace and comfort to our patients, their families and friends at this time."
Thank you to everyone for all of your entries, we were blown away by your support!
