He is dedicated teacher of Emergency Medicine and certified in simulation medical training. His other roles include College Tutor for Emergency Medicine; Lead consultant for education, research and audit; Honorary Senior Lecturer and Pastoral Support Advisor, Leicester Medical School.

Dr Okike has interests in Paediatric infectious diseases and is a Fellow of the Royal College of Paediatrics and Child Health. He works as a Paediatric Consultant and Undergraduate Medical Education lead for child health at Derbyshire children’s hospital. He is the teaching and learning quality lead for undergraduate medical education (including all medical and surgical specialties) and is an Honorary Clinical Associate Professor, University of Nottingham, School of Medicine.
