#TeamUHDB plays role in five ways research has helped fight Covid-19

The five ways research has helped in the fight against Covid-19

The National Institute for Health Research (NIHR) has issued an informative video on the five ways research has helped in the fight against Covid-19 - with #TeamUHDB playing a role in the global effort.

Discoveries made by research into the virus are helping to shape standards of care for patients as well as helping to further our understanding of Covid-19 as the pandemic continues.

This research, which UHDB has played a part in, is helping to saves lives around the world.

The NIHR lists the five ways in which research has aided the fight against Covid-19 as:

  1. Developing treatments
  2. Finding an effective vaccine
  3. Testing and diagnostics
  4. Supporting a global response
  5. Informing UK policy

Of the many hundreds of trials looking into Covid-19 around the world, UHDB is actively participating in both the RECOVERY and ISARIC trials.
