Making a Difference Awards 2026
Thank you to everyone who nominated a UHDB colleague or team in this year's Annual Making a Difference Awards 2026, funded by Derby and Burton Hospitals Charity.
Each year, we recognise and celebrate our people across UHDB through the annual Making a Difference Awards.
We have seen nominations for teams and colleagues across UHDB who have demonstrated the Trust values of compassion, openness and excellence and have gone above and beyond to either directly or indirectly provide exceptional care to our patients. This may be through improvements to quality and safety, supporting colleagues, or making positive changes across our sites, the local NHS system or even nationally.
The annual Making a Difference Awards is an opportunity to recognise an individual or team and thank them for their contributions and achievements in the past year by nominating them in one of the 10 categories.
Thank you to patients, relatives and colleagues who took the time to nominate a member of staff. This year we received over 1,400 nominations sharing how UHDB colleagues have demonstrated our Trust values of excellence, compassion and openness.
Winners were announced at our awards ceremony at Hilton St. George's Park on Friday 18 September, funded by Derby & Burton Hospitals Charity, and all printed materials provided by sponsor LG Davis.
