Catherine Devonport, Governor

Catherine Devonport I am a career nurse with over 30 years experience. I was a sister at Queen’s Hospital in Burton, a community nurse and then worked on national projects to help hospitals all over the country improve patient care.

UHDB is so important to me because my family, friends and local community all depend on the health care it provides and like all patients, I expect very high standards of care. However, there will be times when we could do better and as governor, I know that sometimes difficult conversations are needed.

I recognise UHDB staff work very hard to continually improve the services for our patients. As a patient I see the Trust values clearly reflected in day-to-day high standards of treatment and care delivered by the workforce. As a governor I share their pride and will work to support them in delivering a first-rate patient experience.
