Annual Making a Difference Awards 2025: Shortlist announcement

We are pleased to announce the individuals and teams who have been shortlisted for the Making a Difference Awards 2025, funded by Derby & Burton Hospitals Charity.

The annual awards recognise those who are going above and beyond to make a difference every day to the lives of our patients, our colleagues and the wider Trust.

Teams and colleagues across UHDB have showcased how they are always improving to deliver exceptional care together whether directly or indirectly . This may be through improvements to quality and safety, supporting colleagues, or driving forward digital advancements, innovations or research, making positive changes across our sites, the local NHS system or nationally.

Thank you to patients, relatives and colleagues who took the time to nominate a member of staff. This year we received over 1,600 nominations for colleagues and teams across all sites, showing improvements in quality, patient care and supporting UHDB to be the best place to work. Well done to all those who were nominated.

We will be announcing the shortlists for all 10 categories across the week.
