Every Action Counts - help limit the spread of Covid-19

UHDB is proud to support the Every Action Counts campaign

Covid-19 has changed our lives in so many ways and has provided a number of challenges over the past year. The vaccination programme has provided a sense of optimism about the future, but now is not the time to be complacent.

Everyone in Team UHDB and in the wider communities we serve has made exceptional efforts in helping to navigate our way through the pandemic, but also to help reduce the spread of infection by adhering to social distancing, wearing PPE and changing our working arrangements.

It remains vitally important that we all continue to work together to do all we can to limit the spread of Covid-19 in our hospitals and in our communities.

This is why we are supporting the national Every Action Counts campaign, which highlights the on-going importance of each thing we do has on the overall effort to keep the virus at bay.

It is vital to remember that:

  • Every Action Counts – everything you do has a big impact on the overall effort to combat the virus
  • It is everyone’s responsibility to limit and reduce the spread of Covid-19
  • If you have Covid-19, you may only display mild symptoms or maybe none at all – this means you could transmit it to others unknowingly
  • Even if you have been vaccinated, you can still spread Covid-19
  • Adhering to the measures in place is crucial – you should always follow the rules and thank you for doing so.

We understand that it has been challenging adapting to a new way of working and living, but we must keep doing things differently for a while longer.

You can do your bit by:

  • Remembering the principles of Hands, Face, Space which have been so important in reducing the spread of this infection across our hospital sites and to our loved ones at home
  • Adhering to the restrictions we’ve put in place on visiting wards and departments, however difficult this may be
  • It is okay to respectfully help people to do the right thing and keep those around them safe through education and encouragement

Everyone has done a phenomenal job of supporting the Trust in improving patient safety, and we need to continue what we have started as these actions will continue to keep everyone safe.
