ImpACT+ service changes at London Road Community Hospital
The ImpACT+ service for respiratory patients has made a number of changes to its operation at London Road Community Hospital in Derby in light of the COVID-19 pandemic.
The service is now offering a ‘Virtual Ward’ model, which will facilitate quicker and more supported discharges for patients admitted with respiratory symptoms. Suitable patients are identified by hospital clinicians and reviewed by the team whilst an inpatient. If needed, temporary oxygen and nebulisers can be given at home. Once discharged, patients are monitored with a combination of home visits and phone calls. Patients can remain on the virtual ward for up to two-weeks.
