Sister Ajinder advises how you can help the elderly this winter

Over the last six weeks, a variety of members of #TeamUHDB working on the frontline of healthcare have been delivering a series of messages and advice on which services can help you this winter. They have also been telling you about you can help us by being prepared for winter.

Ajinder Gidda, Sister on Ward 306 at Royal Derby Hospital, this week shares advice on how you can help to ensure elderly relatives and friends are well this winter. Simple things such as a phone or video call to check they’re okay or doing their food shopping for them where it’s safe to do so can make a real difference.

Ajinder said: “Where it’s safe to do so, ensure that you are checking in with elderly family and friends and offer to help in any way you can. For example by doing their shopping for them to ensure they have enough food in their house and have a well-stocked medicine cabinet to manage any minor conditions

“Our hospitals are going to be busy this winter. Help Us Help You.”
