Stunning mural unveiled at Royal Derby Hospital
A beautiful mural has been unveiled in the Dove Suite in Fetal Medicine at Royal Derby Hospital.
The art, which was hand-painted by Air Arts resident artist, E J Lance, depicts a large white dove at its centre, surrounded by plants and other animals, such as a hummingbird, frog and a bee.
The Dove Suite is a quiet space in the Fetal Medicine department, often used as a place for patients to reflect after receiving sad news.
Artist E J Lance said: “It’s really nice to be able to do pieces of work like this. It really makes the room feel more welcoming and peaceful and I’m really pleased that colleagues in the department have had some lovely feedback about it from patients.” 
E J Lance’s work can be found at various locations around Royal Derby Hospital, including in the Healing Garden near the Coronary Care Unit.
