He has been recognised for his services to General Practice and General Practice Teaching.
Playing a central role in educating the next generation of medics to such a high standard, as well as developing new innovations for the delivery of medical education, Professor Taggar has been recognised for using his expertise to support high-quality patient care and services, now and into the future.

Speaking about being named on the Birthday Honours for 2025, he said: "I am deeply humbled by receiving this award in recognition for my leadership as an academic General Practitioner. As a clinician, educator and researcher, I have been very fortunate to lead and work with so many amazing people and, through these teams, we have achieved so much to ultimately benefit our patients, peers and communities."
Stephen Posey, UHDB Chief Executive, added: "On behalf of the Trust, I would like to congratulate Professor Taggar on this honour, which recognises his ongoing contribution and commitment to medical education in the East Midlands. His innovative approach is continually improving learning for our doctors of tomorrow, supporting high-quality patient care."
