Amran Ashraf governor biography

As a proud Derby citizen I am humbled to have been elected, and hope to honour this privilege to the best of abilities.

My professional and personal youthful background is varied and very diverse having worked  with various voluntary organisations in numerous sectors, as well as the NHS.

As a carer and a passionate advocate, I have represented carers at strategic partnership board meetings as an ambassador and offered support from a professional capacity.

With my broad lived life experiences in mental health I hope to bring to the fore the undeniable links of mental health and physical health, defend holistic approaches on delivery of health care, and the well-being of those that provide it.

I do believe the prestigious role of a public governor comes with responsibilities, of which are to not only uphold and further improve Trust values / patient carer experience, but to also think out the box and initiate difficult conversations where required for the betterment of all.
