Lottie Glossop, Training Nursing Associate

I’ve completed both the Level 2 and Level 3 Apprenticeships in Clinical Healthcare Support in partnership with Derby College.

I am now studying at Derby University doing the Trainee Nursing Associate Programme which is a higher level apprenticeship and I am due to qualify in 2020. The university level course is a lot more challenging and independently driven than my previous college courses.

I have given talks at apprenticeship recruitment days on my experience of studying at Royal Derby Hospital as a clinical healthcare apprentice and to let newcomers know why it’s so great to work here.

I mentor other apprentices that come to placement on Ward 307 and so far I have worked with 5 apprentices and hope to see more.

I was also involved in the training and mentoring of the volunteers in the upcoming documentary that has been underway here at Royal Derby Hospital.
