Children's Rheumatology Physiotherapy

Children and young people with inflammatory conditions can be referred to Children's Physiotherapy to help monitor their development, strength and progression.

The physiotherapist will assess and treat each child’s condition, and work closely with the wider multi-professional team to feedback to the specialists involved in each child’s care.

If required, your physiotherapist can refer to occupational therapy.

The occupational therapist can assess and suggest alternative methods for your child’s ability to perform day-to-day tasks to help cope and manage with their pain.

Common conditions we are involved with:

  • Juvenile Idiopathic Arthritis (JIA)
  • Juvenile Dermatamyositis
  • Hypermobility Syndromes
