For the next five weeks, a variety of members of #TeamUHDB working on the frontline of healthcare will be delivering a series of messages and advice on which services can help you this winter. They will also be telling you about you can help us by being prepared for winter.

Rachael Keay, Senior Sister in the Emergency Department at Queen’s Hospital Burton, says that if you are experiencing a serious or life threatening illness or injury, you should attend A&E where you will receive the care you need. If your condition is not life threatening, however, please call NHS 111, contact your GP or visit your pharmacist.

She said: “If you are suffering with symptoms of a significant health concern, please call 999 or visit one of our A&E departments. Please be assured that we have lots of extra measures in place to keep you safe when you visit our hospitals.

“Our hospitals are going to be busy this winter. Help Us Help You.”
