Patricia Coleman, Governor

patricia coleman

I grew up in Derby and now live in the Derbyshire Dales. For much of my professional career I was an executive director in local authorities but more recently worked with central government on public service improvement. In the NHS I held Non-Executive Director roles in Derbyshire Primary Care Trust and University Hospitals of Derby Foundation Trust. I was elected as a Governor in 2021 and was pleased to take on the role of Deputy Lead Governor early in 2023.

I am a strong supporter of the NHS and have always received excellent care myself, but I appreciate that not everyone has the same experience and part of my role as a Governor is to share those experiences.

The NHS is working in a challenging landscape and the pandemic has created additional pressures. I am confident that our Trust is fully focused on ensuring that everyone receives good care and equitable treatment in all of our hospitals, and I will do all I can to support this.
