Peter Steedman, Governor
Peter Steedman was elected to the post of Public Governor for Derbyshire Dales and South Derbyshire in July 2019. After graduating as a Metallurgist, Peter joined Rolls-Royce at Derby in 1983. He held various managerial roles across the organisation focusing on quality assurance and business improvement.
His success was based on taking time to engage with staff at all levels in order to distil the essence of what mattered to them. He built a reputation for recognising simple, common-sense solutions that delivered what ‘customers’ of his operating processes required. Outside of work, Peter has enjoyed hiking in the UK and Europe for many years and also loves to travel to unusual locations off the beaten track.
