National Unified Renal Translational Research Enterprise – Acute Kidney Injury to Chronic Kidney Disease (NURTuRE-ACKD)

The purpose of NURTuRE-ACKD is to find a cohort of patients who have severe (stage 2/3) acute kidney injury (AKI), and study their clinical course during recovery.

In addition to collecting clinical information, samples at timed intervals between the time of AKI, and 90-days later, will also be collected that will support future research, including discovery and validation of biomarkers.

The primary objective will be to characterise persistent kidney damage. In addition, other outcomes will be recorded including hospital readmission, cardiovascular/heart failure events, and mortality.
