Our department comprises of a range of sub-specialist areas, including:
Services provided within these specialties include; outpatient, inpatient, daycase and emergency procedures/admissions at both Royal Derby and Queen’s Hospital Burton. The services are supported by facilities including Critical Care and Diagnostic Support Services.
Both main hospitals include a Surgical Assessment Unit (SAU) and inpatient wards for surgical admissions.
General surgery clinics and daycase procedures are also provided at Sir Robert Peel Hospital in Tamworth. Outpatient Clinics are provided at Samuel Johnson Hospital in Lichfield.
A team of medical and nursing staff within General Surgery provide dedicated treatment and care to patients who are referred to us by their GP/Health Professional or via Emergency Services.
