Specialist Respiratory Occupational Therapist Clinics

The Specialist Occupational Therapist will focus on the patient's occupation and roles in life, enabling you to do the things you want to do. They offer a range of services, including:

  • An initial in-depth assessment discussing what is important to you, your roles and responsibilities, environment and what you would like to be able to do
  • Identifying the impact that your condition (and other co-morbidities) has on your daily living
  • Assisting in goal setting and providing support, advice and specific interventions to achieve these goals
  • Problem solving regarding specific challenges to your daily living
  • Provision of psychological support
  • Working with you to maintain and/or increase your level of activity
  • Teaching and advising on energy conservation techniques as part of fatigue management
  • Teaching and practising relaxation techniques and advice regarding anxiety management

The Specialist Physiotherapists ensure patients are offered a range of treatments appropriate for their condition as well as ensuring their medical management is optimal by providing:

  • Education regarding your condition and advice regarding infection management strategies
