Gynaecology Assessment Unit (GAU)

The Gynaecology Assessment Unit (GAU) provides urgent assessments for women with problems with their reproductive system, such as abnormal bleeding or pain.

Tests and scans (diagnostic services) are used to check the cause of symptoms.

GAU includes an Early Pregnancy Assessment service, which supports women with problems with the early stages of their pregnancy, such as pain or suspected miscarriage. 

Referrals can be made by GPs, midwives, the Emergency Department and other community services.
