This course will enable you to deliver Basic Life Support training to parents and carers using a 4 stage structured approach. To provide insight into the practical teaching task, including care of equipment, time constraints and specific learner needs. To understand the legal issues and documentation associated with teaching individuals resuscitation skills.

Registered Nurses that have achieved competence in paediatric basic life support within the last 12 months.
The assessment component requires the candidate to teach an aspect of basic life support to a faculty member playing the part of a parent. After successful completion of the course the candidate needs to be initially assessed teaching parents by an ALSG/Resuscitation Council instructor in their practice setting.
This session is free to all staff employed by the Trust.
External candidates will incur a charge of £100.
